FAQ

Product Benefits & Selection Guide

What are the benefits of Foceedo ice bath chiller?
  • No ice needed, so you save time and money.
  • Precise temperature control for consistent results.
  • Built in filtration and disinfection keep water fresh for weeks.
  • Enjoy an ice bath anytime by scheduling pre cooling via Wi-Fi

Foceedo chillers offer sleek design, quiet operation and rapid, energy efficient cooling, backed by rock solid quality and responsive support.

Depending on the size of the ice bath and the desired temperature. For best performance, pair a 100 L tub with a 1/3 HP chiller, and choose a 1/2 HP or 1 HP chiller for tubs between  150  and  200 L.

Installation & Maintenance

What are the installation requirements for the chiller?

Keep at least 50 cm of clear space on every side so air flows freely; any obstruction will reduce cooling efficiency.

When outdoor temperatures rise in summer, fitting the tub with an insulation wrap and cover slows heat gain, helps the water cool faster, and cuts electricity use.

  • Change the main filter every 2~4 weeks.
  • Clean the small filter regularly; we recommend doing so every two weeks.
  • If the temperature drops below 0 °C / 32 °F, drain the unit to prevent freezing.

Ice Bath Chiller Usage

What water temperature do you recommend?

Most recovery specialists suggest starting at 8 – 12 °C (46 – 54 °F) for sessions of up to 25 minutes. Stay above 8 °C until you are fully comfortable, and never drop lower without expert supervision—it can quickly lead to hypothermia. Know your own limits and follow guidance from qualified coaches or healthcare professionals to gain the greatest benefit.

Most experts suggest 15 – 25 minutes—as long as the water is in the recommended temperature range and you are already comfortable with cold exposure. Shorten the session if you feel numbness, intense shivering, or any discomfort, and always follow guidance from qualified coaches or healthcare professionals.

Start with just your feet and lower legs. As your cold tolerance improves, gradually lower yourself until the water reaches chest level. Do not submerge your head.

Yes. Model E10 can heat the water up to 42 °C (≈ 107 °F), making it suitable for warm-water spa sessions.

Technical Information

What is an Electronic Expansion Valve (EEV)?

An EEV (Electronic Expansion Valve) is a device that controls the flow of refrigerant in chilling systems. Unlike traditional thermal expansion valves or capillary tubes, an EEV provides much more precise control. This precision can improve cooling efficiency by up to 30% and reduce energy consumption by around 15%.

Foceedo selects R290 or R410A for its chillers according to model requirements, ensuring eco-friendly performance and low power consumption.

That liquid is normal condensate formed during operation, not a leak.

The chiller shows the inlet water temperature, which is slightly higher than the average temperature of the water in the bath, so the actual bath water feels colder.

First, check whether the issue is caused by the chiller itself or by external conditions. Common external causes include using an undersized model, operating without a bath cover, or a high ambient temperature. If the problem is with the chiller, please contact your local dealer for support.
