Which FOCEEDO chiller is right for my setup?

Start with your tub’s water volume: E03 for up to 300 L, E05 for up to 500 L, E10 for up to 700 L, and E20 for up to 1,000 L. E10 and E20 also offer heating.

Installation & Maintenance

What are the installation requirements for the chiller?

Keep at least 50 cm of clear space on every side so air flows freely; any obstruction will reduce cooling efficiency.

Why do we need to use insulation wrap and cover?

When outdoor temperatures rise in summer, fitting the tub with an insulation wrap and cover slows heat gain, helps the water cool faster, and cuts electricity use.

How do I maintain my ice bath chiller?

Change the main filter every 2~4 weeks.
Clean the small filter regularly; we recommend doing so every two weeks.
If the temperature drops below 0 °C / 32 °F, drain the unit to prevent freezing.

Ice Bath Chiller Usage

What water temperature should I start with?

If you’re new to cold plunging, start near 15°C, at the warmer end of the common 10–15°C beginner range. Enter slowly and focus on keeping your breathing controlled. You do not need to use the chiller’s lowest setting to benefit from a cold plunge.

How long should I stay in an ice bath?

For your first few sessions, aim for just 1–2 minutes, and get out sooner if needed. Keep beginner sessions brief rather than working toward a longer time target.

Exit immediately if you feel dizzy, develop numbness, shiver intensely, or cannot control your breathing. Afterward, dry off and put on warm clothing.

Safety first: Do not plunge alone or hold your breath underwater. If you have a heart or circulatory condition, uncontrolled high blood pressure, reduced sensation, or are pregnant, consult your healthcare professional before use.

Can I immerse my entire body in the ice bath?

Start with just your feet and lower legs. As your cold tolerance improves, gradually lower yourself until the water reaches chest level. Do not submerge your head.

Can the chiller also be used for a spa?

Yes. Model E10 can heat the water up to 42 °C (≈ 107 °F), making it suitable for warm-water spa sessions.

What is an Electronic Expansion Valve (EEV)?

An EEV (Electronic Expansion Valve) is a device that controls the flow of refrigerant in chilling systems. Unlike traditional thermal expansion valves or capillary tubes, an EEV provides much more precise control. This precision can improve cooling efficiency by up to 30% and reduce energy consumption by around 15%.

What refrigerant do Foceedo chillers use?

FOCEEDO chillers use natural R290 refrigerant, supporting eco-friendly performance and low power consumption.

Why is water occasionally dripping from a corner of the chiller’s base?

A small amount of dripping is typically normal condensation formed during operation. However, if the water volume seems excessive, please check your hose connections and fittings to rule out a leak.

Why is the ice bath water colder than the temperature shown on the chiller display?

The chiller shows the inlet water temperature, which is slightly higher than the average temperature of the water in the bath, so the actual bath water feels colder.

Why is there no cooling, or why is the cooling not sufficient?

First, check whether the issue is caused by the chiller itself or by external conditions. Common external causes include using an undersized model, operating without a bath cover, or a high ambient temperature. If the problem is with the chiller, please contact your local dealer for support.
